The introduction to a speech should arouse your listeners’ interest, establish your credibility, and focus and preview your message. Some useful ways to introduce a speech include involving the audience, relating your subject to personal experience, asking rhetorical questions, creating suspense, telling a story using humor, beginning with a quotation, using a presentation aid, or startling the audience. As you build credibility, you also make possible identification between yourself and the audience.

My daughter and I was inside the restaurant eating our snacks after we watched a movie. Suddenly, I noticed that my daughter was looking outside.
I did not asked anything about it but when we get out of the restaurant, I found out that she brought the left over food we ordered. Before she get inside the car, I saw her giving the left over food to the beggar. I was touched by her gesture to help the needy.

I remember my father in her. My father always impressed on us a social and moral responsibility over all the comfort we were blessed with in our lives.
He used to tell us then that “To whom much is given, much is expected from.” While your children are young introduce them to philantrophy.
Take time to do volunteer work. Teach them the importance of sharing and the personal rewards it brings.Set up foundations,
scholarship grants, and give to charitable institutions.

Children should know that not all rich and successful people started out that way — someone just believed in them and gave them a break.

So many of us believe in this that we’ve come to look on it as an old friend. It’s a tempting devil. It lets us avoid taking full responsibility for our own performance. This common fallacy is a destructive idea that I’d like to eliminate from your mind right now.
Having trained nearly a million salespeople in my national seminars, I’ve met a lot of strong individuals who are on the fast track. I’ve met with large numbers who haven’t put their foot on the lowest rung of their potential yet. And, sadly, many of these people never will climb very high on their potential’s ladder because they are firm believers in the myth of the natural born sales wonder.
The myth cuts two ways.
A few believe they’re naturals. That’s great for confidence but it’s often the source of raging overconfidence. When that overconfidence persuades people that they don’t have to bother learning to be competent like ordinary mortals, they trap themselves far below their potential.
Many more people believe they’re not naturals, think it’s hopeless to work at becoming competent—and trap themselves far below their potential.
“I’m just not a salesperson by nature. Wasn’t born with the golden touch like Joe Whizzbeau over there. If I’d been born with his wit, charisma, and bear-hug personality, I could tear ‘em up too. But I wasn’t, so I’m never going to make it big in sales.”

I am planning to visit my mother this coming week. I remember the last time that I visited her, she baked the chocolate cake which she knew that it was my favorite flavor. I really missed the time that we were together.

I had been away from our house because I got a scholarship grant from a prestigious school which was very far from our residence and I have no choice but to live near the school. And this holiday season, I want to spend the weekend with her. Along the way, I came across a jewelry store. Among the jewelries that were offered to me by the saleslady, I was attracted at the heart-shaped design of earrings display at the mirror stand. So, I decided to buy her the said pair of golden earrings from my savings.

I am very much sure that she will love to receive a gift coming from me.

Two weeks from now,my friend and her husband is celebrating their golden anniversary in their new house, and I want to give them something they can both enjoy.

The simplest and most common gift is food or wine. But I like to give something a little more personal, something that encourages intimacy
for the couple, like a photo box organizing kit for the tip down memory lane. A collection of fun sensual books is always a hit and for the
more spiritual of your friends, you can give his-and-hers books on understanding relationships. I decided to give them a photo box. I remember during our childhood, she love taking her own picture and keep it in an album for her own collection. I think that this gift will make her smile and happy. This will encourage her to continue on taking her own picture even they are old.

With this photo box, she can put all of her pictures from the day she was born and up to the present. The hard cover of this photo box protect the pictures for a lifetime.

Most children I know who belongs to high society tends to become spoiled brat. A happy-go-lucky
teenagers who does not know when and how they spend their money. Until such time that they involved in
different kinds of trouble and become a problem in our society.

In order to save your children from bad habit and influence, why don’t you provide your children with various
activities that may or may not require spending a lot of money. Let them exposed to different types
of people and make sure not to limit their friends to those belonging to the same social group.
Occasionally, travel with them or have them experience living abroad or on their own, engage them
in competitive sports, or send them on weekends with their grandparents.

Children will become more self-assured adults if you allow them to explore on their own, make their
own mistakes, and develop their own interests and hobbies.

When you reach your conclusion, pause, and then present your summary and concluding remarks with special emphasis. Maintain eye contact for a moment before you move confidently back to your seat. This final impression is very important. You should keep the focus on your message, not on yourself. Even though you may feel relieved that the speech is over, don’t say “Whew!” or “I made it!” and never shake your head to show disappointment with your presentation. You probably did better than you thought, and at the very least, you don’t want to encourage negative reactions to your message.
Do these techniques really work, and is such advice helpful?
Research on communication apprehension has established the following conclusions:
(1) Such techniques do work, and
(2) they work best in combination. Keep in mind that controlling anxiety takes time.
As you become more experienced at giving speeches and at practicing the suggestions in the following Speaker’s Notes, you will find your fears abating, and your ability to convert communication apprehension into positive, constructive energy should improve.
Thus far, we have discussed controlling speech anxiety in terms of what the speaker can do, but the audience also can help speakers by creating a positive communication climate. As an audience member, you should listen attentively and look for something in the speech that interests you. Even if you are not excited about the topic, you may pick up some techniques that will be useful when it is your time to speak. When you discuss or evaluate the speeches of others, be constructive and helpful. That’s an attitude you will appreciate when others comment on your speech.

Children persistent ” why’s ” and “how come?” show that these kids are thinking. Answer must be honest and not tossed off in ignorance or exasperation for soon enough the kid will lose interest in inquiring. What happens through when you get stumped with a questions as ” What is happens though when you get stumped with a question as ” What is Halley’s comet?” or ” How come boats don’t sink?” and adults can’t really explain the what or the how of it?
Do you say, look it up in the encyclopedia ( which I often do with my 10 years old son, to teach him to be independent) or start a lengthy exploratory discussion on the subject. Ideally, it would be good to discuss the answer using a wide range of references- your own information background and others people’s as reference materials. And perhaps in the end, the adult will learn much more from the exploratory scheme than if he left the research to the child alone.

There are other things you can do to control communication anxiety, which go under the general heading of skills training. Actually, just about everything you learn in a speech class can help you harness your feelings of fear.
First, select a topic that interests and excites you, so that you will get so involved with it that there is little room in your mind for worry about yourself.
Second, choose a topic that you already know something about so that you will be more confident. Then build on that foundation of knowledge. Visit the library. Access the Internet. Interview local experts. The better prepared you are, the more confident you will be that you have something worthwhile to say.
Third, consider whether you might use a presentation aid—a chart, graph, object, or model. Referring to a presentation aid during your speech encourages gesturing, and gesturing helps release excess energy in constructive ways.
Fourth, practice, and then practice some more. The more you master your message, the more comfortable you will be, and the more successful you can expect to be.
Fifth, develop a positive attitude toward your listeners.
Don’t think of them as “the enemy.” Expect them to be helpful and attentive.

Money study—I acquire new knowledge quickly and thoroughly. Knowing how to learn fast is the key to rapid personal growth and quick sales success. As adults, it’s easy to fall into the habit of skimming over new knowledge, of avoiding any organized effort to grasp and hold new knowledge. That’s no good at all. Superior earning ability grows out of the superior performance that superior learning makes easy. The place to start being superior is to acquire and use a superior learning system.
Impact. You’ve noticed that the more you’re interested in a subject, the more easily you remember details abort it. To learn something with greater thoroughness and speed, first take a few moments to psyche yourself up. Dwell on how much that knowledge is going to help you; visualize the benefits you’re going to get from possessing it. Form a clear and vivid picture in your mind as to why you’re learning that material. Then, each time you start to study it, take just a second or two to recall that vivid picture of the benefits you’re seeking. Do that and you’ll intensify the impact of that material, and make it yours faster.
